Our intimate collection has roots
It started with a cigarette and a dare. April 2002, Albertson’s service deli. Barbara had just returned from a six-month hiatus when she spotted a guy in produce—cute, quiet, ten feet away. The girls warned her: “That’s Josh. You’ll never get him.” She smirked, lit up with confidence, and said, “Watch this.”
One smoke break later, everything changed. Josh didn’t seem shy. He smiled, said yes, and pushed his cart aside like he’d been waiting for her all along. Within five minutes, Barbara knew: “I’m going to marry him.” Back inside, when asked if he’d turned her down, she fired back, “Bitch, I don’t get turned down. I’m going to marry him.” And she did.
But not right away. They were best friends for two and a half years before their first kiss. No rush. No games. Just deep, steady connection. In August 2008, Barbara married her best friend. Josh met her son Jeremy on Father’s Day 2002—just a coincidence then. But on Halloween 2013, Jeremy signed adoption papers at age 16, officially becoming Joshua’s. That moment sealed a bond that had already been forged in love, loyalty, and lived-in trust.
